The design is the apex in making the most of the HDPE roto-moulding process with its light weight, robustness and UV resistant properties and no better design has been seen for all round performance.
RIVER and General use.
Escape Kayaks Pacer XS has excellent stability due to an abstract Polynesian outrigger design. It is not a tub with fins or a glorified raft like others, but a genuine kayak with an intrinsic stability and ability to track straight whilst remaining maneuverable. Safe and easy to use. Children with confidence in the water can handle them and they will take a large adult or even an adult with a small child. A better option than tandems for the same purpose usually. Our paddle is tuned to the kayak but remains the same length for all paddlers, due to the higher sides and wider profile off GP sit-on kayaks changing the angle of entry to the water depending on the sitting height of the paddler. This is just one detail which sets us apart from the amateurs and opportunists. Water bottle holder is included and the central storage hatch is easy to see in and use. An all round grab rope is a very important safety feature, allowing easy ingress to the kayak in deep water and a safe point of purchase in any conditions. Others do away with this to save on costs and get by with a couple of handles which is inferior. The Pacer XS is almost unique in its ability to stack upside down on standard roof racks, allowing 3 to be stacked on most racks with just a couple of tiedowns to make it a stream lined and secure load. They stack well against other items and kayaks, surfboards etc, unlike most others.
OCEAN AND SURF
Escape Kayaks Pacer XS has the stability, buoyancy and drainage required to paddle out through even the largest surf. Without these three features in abundance you will struggle to paddle out through surf once it gets bigger than a meter or two. Our kayaks have been successfully paddled to Rottnest Island in the annual swimming event every year since 2004. No need to bail and they have a planing hull, meaning it does not try to broach when riding the waves. The design is very rigid with four bulkheads which resist twisting and deformation in forceful conditions.
FISHING
Escape Kayaks Pacer XS makes a practical fishing kayak, with it's hatch well placed and we suggest one or max two rod holders is enough. Many fishing kayaks have more hatches and rod holders than you need, and often place these out of reach. Kayak fishing is a minimalist sport, take with you the minimum amount of equipment and we suggest a cheaper telescopic rod for the purpose because your good rods will get knocked around and often these sink like a rock whilst a telescopic rod generally floats long enough to recover it.
SCUBA DIVING and CAMPING
Escape Kayaks Pacer XS has moulded wells to hold a scuba tank and we can add straps to these. The optional large hatches; which like all hatches on the front or back of kayaks cannot be reached from the sitting position, do offer divers and campers the extra stowage space they need and being in the water or on land allows access to these.
